Khimsar – 2 nights, Jaisalmer- 2 nights, Jodhpur- 2 nights

   Day 1: Arrive Jodhpur – Khimsar      (D)
  On arrival in Jodhpur airport, meet & greet by our professional chauffeur and commence drive to  Khimsar (90 Kms/2 hours drive), on
  arrival, check in at the hotel. Khimsar is steeped in history - founded  2500 years ago by the Jain Saint Mahaveer. This is the starting point of the great Indian Desert. The founder of the castle which was built in mid 15th century was Prince Karamsi- son of Jodhpur . Dinner & overnight at hotel.
 
 
   Day 2: Khimsar - Nagaur - Khimsar

After breakfast we take an excursion trip to Nagaur - Nagaur is a desert town of historical significance. Nagaur was granted to the famous warrior Amar Singh Rathore by Emperor Shahjahan. Visit the Nagaur Fort Centrally located, dating back to the 2nd century witnessed many battles. It has lofty walls & spacious campus, having many palaces & temples inside. Other places we visit are Saiji Ka Tanka Samadhi of a renowned saint, inspires the liberation of the soul with simplicity  &  truthfulness, a  symbol  of  communal  harmony,  Cenotaph  of  Amar Singh Rathore,  Bansiwala  Temple, Nath  Ji ki Chhatri and  Barli. In  the afternoon

  we return back to Hotel. After tea we proceed to Khimsar Dune village ( 6 kms). One can enjoy a evening wildlife safari on camel back or jeep. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.
 
 
   Day 3: Khimsar- Jaisalmer

After breakfast we check out & depart for Jaisalmer (295 kms/5 hours drive). The History of Jaisalmer has a charm of its own. Like all other cities of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer too has its own glorious past to boast about. History of Jaisalmer draws heavily from the history of the Rajputana. The city is said to be founded by one Raja Rawal Jaisal, a Bhatti Rajput ruler, in approximately 1156 A D. Legends go by that he did it on the behest of a local hermit named Eesaal. The raja choose Trikut hill as the new site for his fort. This was because he thought that his previous abode at Luderwa (16 km from present Jaisalmer) was vulnerable towards possible enemy assault.  Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

 
 
   Day 4: Jaisalmer

After breakfast we take a full day sightseeing of Jaisalmer covering Jaisalmer Fort also known as Sonar Quila ( Golden Fort ) is the second oldest fort in the state of Rajasthan. The mega structure merges with the golden hues of the desert ambience and the setting sun put it in its most colourful shades, giving it a fairy tale look. It hovers on a 250 feet high hilltop, providing an amazing view of the vast desert below. Patwon Ji Ki Haveli This five story high haveli is one of the largest and most  intricate  havelis  in  Jaisalmer.  The haveli is beautifully and extensivelycarved. It is divided into six apartments. Salim Singh Ki Haveli

Salim Singh was the Prime Minister of the princely state of Jaisalmer. It is located just below the hill. Built about 300 years ago, the haveli has an arched roof with carved brackets in the form of Peacocks. Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli was the result of the efforts of two architect brothers. Built in the 19th century the haveli is an epitome of side-by-side symmetry. Standing as guards to the haveli are huge tuskers carved out of yellow sandstone. In evening proceed to visit the Sam Sand Dunes (40 Kms.) to enjoy a camel ride on the dunes & local people playing Rasjthani music & dance. Dinner &  overnight at the hotel.

 
 
   Day 5: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur

After breakfast we commence our drive to Jodhpur (285 Kms./4 hours drive). On arrival check in at the hotel.  Rest of the day at leisure to browse through the bazaars of Jodhpur for the famous Mojaris (traditional Rajasthani footwear) and other leather handicrafts. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.
 
 
   Day 6: Jodhpur

Half day tour of Jodhpur. Visit, Mehrangarh Fort Magnificent Mehrangarh, one of Rajasthan's finest forts, looks down protectively over the city, from the hilltop. The fort is situated at an altitude of about 125 meters and is spread over an area of 5 sq. km. with seven gates. Jaswant Thada is an architectural landmark

found in Jodhpur. It is a white marble memorial built by Sardar Singh in 1899 in memory of Maharja Jaswant Singh II. The monument, in its entirety, is built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. These stones are extremely thin and polished so that they emit a warm glow when the sun's rays dance across their surface. Within this cenotaph, there are also two more tombs. The Jaswant Thada is a traditional cremation ground of Jodhpur rulers. The grounds are also comprised of exquisitely carved gazebos,  a beautiful  multi-tiered  garden,  and  a  small lake. Umaid  Bhawan  Palace  The  romantic  looking  Umaid BhawanPalace

 

was actually built with the purpose of giving employment to the people of Jodhpur during a long drawn famine & now houses a the museum. Clock Tower It is a popular landmark in the lively old city and a wonderful place to simply ramble around. The vibrant Sadar market is close to the tower and offers a wide range of handicrafts. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast we drop you at Jodhpur airport/station. End of tour
