Munnar - 2 nights, Thekkady - 1 night, Kumarakom - 1 night, Alleppy - 1 night, Cochin - 1 night

    Day 1: Cochin – Munnar

On arrival  at  Cochin  airport,  meet  &  greet  by  our  professional  chauffeur  and  transfer  to  Munnar,
(135 Kms. / 3 & ½ Hrs) Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain stream Madrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. 1600 meters above sea level, this hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling tea plantations, picture-book towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make this a popular resorts town. Among the exotic flora found in the forest and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji. This flower, which bathes the hills in blue every twelve years, will bloom next in 2018 AD. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India, The Anamudi, which towers over 2695 meters. The Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking. On arrival check in at the Hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


    Day 2: Munnar

This morning you will proceed on a sightseeing tour of the picturesque Mattupetty which is known for its highly specialized dairy farm the Indo Swiss Livestock Project. Over a 100 varieties of high yielding cattle are reared here. Visitors are allowed into 3 of the 11 cattle sheds at the farm. The Mattupetty Lake and Dam just a short distance from the farm, is a very beautiful picnic spot. The sprawling Kundala Tea Plantations and the Kundala Lake are other attractions in the vicinity. There are also boating facilities on the  Mattupetty Dam. Speed launch, slow speedboat and motorboats are available on hire. We continue our tour to the Echo Point. Overnight and dinner at the hotel.


    Day 3: Munnar – Thekkady

After breakfast we commence our drive to Thekkady (160 kms./4 hours drive). On arrival check in at the hotel. Later in evening proceed to visit Kumily  This town is located on the border of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary It is an important business center and spice trade center and is known for its spice plantations and gardens Mangala Devi Temple Pandikuzhi Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

    Day 4: Thekkady – Kumarakom

After breakfast drive to Kumarakom (185 kms./4½ hours drive) Kumarakom, which is located 16 kms away from Kottayam town is a well-known tourist destination in Kerala. An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many leisure options. Boating and fishing facilities are available at the Tourist retreats in Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake and is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary   here,  which  is   spread   across  14 acres    is   a   favorite   haunt  of migratory birds  and an  ornithologist's  paradise. Egrets,  darters,  herons,  teal,

 

waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian stork that live here in flocks are a fascination for visitors. The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom Sanctuary is a boat trip round the islands. En-route you will stop to see the spice plantations. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 
 
    Day 5: Kumarakom – Alleppy (Houseboat)

Today morning leave for Alleppy (45 kms./1 hour drive) & board your Houseboat. Enjoy the whole day exploring the fabulous backwaters The Alleppey backwaters are an ideal way to explore the slow moving life of Kerala. Once you set out to explore the Alappuzha backwaters you will yourself feel that time stops at this place. The calm and placid waters lined with lush green coconut trees are a treat to a nature lover's soul. The peace and serenity that surrounds you once you set out to explore the backwaters is beyond comprehension. Dinner and overnight on the houseboat.

 
 
    Day 6: Alleppy – Cochin     
(B, D)

After disembarkation at Alleppy Boat Jetty in the morning leave for Cochin (70 kms./1½ hours drive). On arrival check in at the hotel. This place is situated at a convergence point of three hills and seven inlets and is a geographical wonder. The place is a photographer's paradise and houses some really wonderful architectural works. The Paliam Palace is an architectural marvel and was the official residence of the hereditary Prime Ministers to the Maharajas of Cochin. Apart   from  this,  you will find  temples,  mosques  and  churches together on one piece of land, symbolizing the peaceful co-existence of  religions in  this place. We

also visit the Jewish synagogue built in 1568, walk to the adjacent Dutch Palace and see the famous Chinese fishing nets Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
 
 
    Day 7: Cochin drop    
(B)

After breakfast we drop you at Cochin airport/station. End of tour
Optional - Tour to South of Kerala (Kovalam or Kollam or Kanniyakumari via Trivandrum).
