  Kufri  
   

Kufri’s a great place for winter sports. In fact, Kufri boasts of the oldest ski slopes in the whole of Himachal. The sport was popularized about 20 years ago by some local youngsters. Thanks to their efforts, the slopes at Kufri remain dotted with skiers in the winter months.

 

 
   
 
  Shimla Church  
   

The most prominent building on the Mall is the yellow Christ Church, reputed to be the second oldest church in northern India.
The silhoutte of this can be seen on the skyline for miles around. It was designed by Colonel JT Boileau in 1844, but consecrated only after 1857.
The clock was donated by Colonel Dumbleton in 1860, and the porch added in 1873. In Shimla’s 75 years of reigning as summer capital, a long line of officials and other notables of the Raj came to the church for their Sunday prayers. The seasonal influx would be so great at times that space would pose a big problem.

 
   
 
  Mall Road  
   

Once established by the British empire, "The Mall" is centrally located in Shimla, the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. "The Mall" often described as the heart of the city is embellished with varieties of departmental stores, shops, showrooms and restaurants.It is also known as a shoppers paradise. Apart from the shopping attraction, there is century old church and temple located nearby. The Scandal Point, which is located at the end of the Mall road in Shimla attracts large number of tourists for its scenic and picturesque view.


 
   
 
  Naldehra  
   

Naldehra, is situated at an altitude of 6706 feet and is 25 km from Shimla on Shimla - Tattapani road. Naldehra houses the oldest and the highest  golf course in India. It is a famous picnic spot and one can have leisure pine lined forest walks and horse rides. Its beauty has attracted the film industry and this place has featured in many Hindi movie.

 
   
 
  Mashobra  
   

Situated on Shimla-Naldehra road 10 kilometers from Shimla at a height of 7700 feet. It is a place of unique beauty, and is an ideal interlude beneath the oaks and the pines. Featuring beautiful gardens  it is a popular weekend spot, lined  with innumerable picnic spots. Stone benches have been strategically placed all over the grassy knolls, where you can sit back and enjoy views of the Dhauladhar Range. About 3 km from Mashobra is the lovely resort of Craignano (7,800 feet).


 
   
 
  Chail  
   

Situated at 45 kilometers from Shimla, Chail  is a lush green setting and was the former capital of the Patiala State. It has the world’s highest cricket ground at a height of 7220 feet situated in the cantonment area , as such, is out of bounds to civilians. There is a wildlife sanctuary at a distance of 3 km from here. It is one of the few notified regions in the state where humans and wild beasts live side by side. The Palace of Maharaja Of Patiala has been converted into the popular Palace Hotel. Chail is for leisurely walks in summer and autumn, and fun in the snow in winters.l
